Alvi Chairiah was born in North Aceh, December 27, 1991, but she spent most of her childhood in Banda Aceh as the third child of five siblings.
Teaching is highly preferred by her since she graduated from
English Department, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala
University. She believes that educating is the duty of all people and everyone
can be an educator. Besides being a teacher, she is also a broadcaster at one
of local radio in Banda Aceh, called Three FM radio. Traveling is the activity
she loves the most. By traveling, she will get so many lessons by feeling new
environment.
Born as Acehnese, she has a great respect to her culture and
really wants to introduce the culture to all people in the world. She also was
so excited to master all Indonesian cultures since it has lots of them and
learn the new ones from all over the world. Maintaning culture is considered very important to her, like one of
Acehnese quote said “Matee aneuk meupat jeurat, matee adat pat ta mita” means if
a child is dead, we will know where is the grave, but if the culture is dead,
we will never never know where to look for it.
